Sore Throat Screening & Antibiotic Consult
Our pharmacy offers a prompt assessment and treatment service for individuals aged 12 and over experiencing a sore throat. This includes a throat swab to check for streptococcal infection and, if required, medication to help prevent potential complications.
This service is particularly important for those at higher risk of rheumatic fever, including individuals with a personal, family, or household history of the condition. Early detection and treatment can help reduce the risk of rheumatic fever and related complications.
